Some holiday houses and older homes in Australia still have their beautiful patterned carpet with roses and bouquets of flowers. It gives licence to put many colours in the same room and somehow it all works. This is a beautiful light filled room with venetian blinds, a mix of furnishings and cushions. It reminds me of the good front room where you might come together on the carpet to play mousetrap or monopoly. A pack of cards on holiday was great for solitaire and stop the bus. Lots of happy times.
